Najibullah Arshad is a faculty member and Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Kateb University, as well as an academic and researcher in the fields of economics and management in Afghanistan. Mr. Arshad holds a BA (Honors) in Economics from the University of Lucknow, India, and an MSc in Economics from the University of Isfahan, Iran. During his studies at the University of Isfahan, he collaborated in the academic and research activities of the Center of Excellence of the university and contributed to the preparation and compilation of a research report entitled “Outcomes and Policy Purposes of National Conference on Monetary and Bank Management Development.”
Mr. Arshad served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Academic Director of Kharazmi Institute of Higher Education in 1390 and 1391. Since the second half of 1394, he has served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Kateb University. In 1398 and 1399, he was abroad to pursue his doctoral studies and, upon his return, was reappointed as Dean of the Faculty of Economics in 1400 and continues to serve in this position.
In the field of academic publishing and scholarly management, he has served as Managing Director of the Kateb Scientific-Research Journal of Economics and Management since 1401. In 1404, the journal was upgraded and continued its activities under the title Kateb International Journal of Economics and Management. Mr. Arshad continues to serve as Editor-in-Chief of this international journal.
His teaching experience is primarily focused on master’s programs. He teaches Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and Applied Econometrics in the master’s programs in Economics and Development Economics and uses statistical software such as Stata and EViews in teaching quantitative methods and data analysis. He also teaches Managerial Economics, Operations Research using LINGO, and Tax Planning and Management in the MBA program. His teaching approach is based on linking theoretical economic concepts with quantitative methods and their practical applications in economic and managerial decision-making.
Throughout his academic and professional career, Mr. Arshad has received a number of academic awards, scholarships, and certificates of appreciation. Among the most notable are the Outstanding Researcher of Kateb University Award in 1405, the Best Lecturer Award from Kateb University, the Outstanding Student and Best Master’s Thesis Certificate from the University of Isfahan, scholarships for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies, the 2nd Best Presentation Certificate from BSL Institute, India, and several academic and educational certificates of appreciation.
